Mazzer Mini Grind by Time Espresso Grinder
Mazzer Mini Grind by Time Espresso Grinder
The Mazzer Mini is the smallest on-demand grinder Mazzer makes, and the reason to buy one has less to do with any single feature than with the name on the front. This is a thirty-year-old design from a company that still machines its own burrs, now rebuilt around a new asynchronous motor that grinds more than fifty percent faster than the Mini it replaces, at two to two and a half grams a second.
It fits where a commercial grinder normally will not. Under a kitchen cabinet at sixteen and three quarter inches tall, on a cart, or at the end of a bar as your second hopper for decaf or a single origin. The touch panel handles programmable single and double doses in hundredths of a second with a manual mode and a dose counter, and grinding fires from the portafilter so your hands stay free. An antistatic system keeps dust off the counter and the chute pulls out for cleaning.
Treat it as a light commercial grinder rather than a main bar workhorse. Mazzer rates it to about a kilogram of coffee a day, which makes it a strong fit for low volume, a second grinder, or a serious home setup. If you want the same body weighing every dose instead of timing it, look at the Mini G.
